The 6th edition of the Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) Arts and Culture Festival is in high gear.
Slated to take place on November 1st and 2nd at the UNCC, this year’s festival is poised to celebrate the theme ‘My Culture My Identity’, showcasing Uganda’s rich cultural heritage while emphasizing the dynamic connection between culture and tourism.
This aligns with the UNCC’s mission to promote and preserve Ugandan heritage both locally and globally, considering the main objectives which are to showcase and celebrate the rich cultures of Uganda, Equip Art and Culture practitioners with entrepreneurial skills and create networking opportunities for all Art and Culture stakeholders.
Speaking to this website, Robert Musiitwa, the head of Public Relations at the UNCC explained that this year’s festival will provide a platform to celebrate the depth and diversity of Uganda’s cultural landscape.
“We have invited Art and Culture professionals, enthusiasts, and stakeholders to gather, network, and showcase their creative work because the event emphasizes community development through cultural exchange and opens doors for economic empowerment, particularly for women and youth, within Uganda’s creative industries,” he said
The two days festival has a fixed program characterized with a
Symposium & Workshops, live performances from stage bands, drama acts, and indigenous dance performances by cultural troupes from different regions in the country.
The festival has no entry fee and is open to everyone
