One thing fans expected to experience at the Son of Opio comedy show were doses of laughter, but what they got was unstoppable side splitting laughter from the warm- up act, Jordan Nasasira from kiruhura to the main act- Son of Opio aka A kite Agnes.
Clad in a pair of jeans, a checkered shirt with a long sleeved camisole and farm boots, Akite joined the stage like the son of her father swagged up and in a vibe performing Eminem’s “Lose yourself”.
Before the audience could take that in, they were finding humor in the horror that happened to her in November last year.
Laughing in the face of death, Akite ‘s overwhelming comic description of a situation that almost had her singing with the angels was just an opener for the night.
Forty one years later, she got the opportunity to introduce her Father’s son who everyone, except her family thought had joined the army at three months.
Nurses made an error with the scan and announced that Akite ‘s mother was expecting a boy when in fact, it was Akite. Her father who had gotten used to his wife giving birth to girls was overwhelmed with the news that he started sharing it everywhere like a street pastor preaching the gospel.
Nine months later, a baby was born and every one was looking forward to meet the Son of Opio.
Mr. Opio’s energy to unpreach had worn out, so he said the baby boy had joined the army.
She took the audience down memory lane and left no tales untold.
Other acts of the night were Arinitwe Brandy, Alfonso, Mukasa U, Dr. Hilary Okello and Happy Kyazze.
