The engines roared and rubber burned as motorsport enthusiasts gathered at the Lubowa Karting track on Sunday, June 1, 2025, for the inaugural Lubowa Ignition Tournament — a high-energy karting showdown that pulled in young racers, professionals, and celebrities for a day of pure adrenaline.
Organized by Talent Africa Group and hosted by Adele, the event attracted a lively crowd of speed lovers and spectators, eager to witness karting talent across four electrifying categories — Junior, Female, Pro, and Celebrity races.
In the Junior Category, it was a battle of nerves and skill as Joseph raced his way to the top of the podium. Faheem Garcha and Kavan Garcha followed closely, securing second and third places respectively in a fiercely contested heat.

The Female Category offered both thrill and inspiration as women racers showcased finesse and fierce competition. Doris emerged champion, ahead of Eyrain and Anella, proving that speed knows no gender.
In the Pro Category, experienced drivers went head-to-head in the day’s most intense showdown. Henk clinched first place with an impressive performance, while Yosemite and Beberto took second and third, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.
But it was the Celebrity Race that stole the spotlight. Local stars such as Sammy Wetala, Max Noir, Big Trail, and Aly Allibhai — the CEO of Talent Africa Group — hit the track in a crowd-thrilling race. Wetala emerged as the surprise winner, while Allibhai raced into second place and Big Trail wrapped up the podium in third.

Speaking after the event, Emil Kwame Ampofo, Director of Lubowa Karting, couldn’t hide his excitement:
“We were captivated by the drama on track at our inaugural Ignition tournament. The competitors and spectators truly made it a day to remember.”
Aly Allibhai echoed the same sentiment:
“This event not only showcased incredible talent but also strengthened our community’s spirit. We are proud to be part of such an exhilarating day and look forward to more events like this in the future.”
The tournament was powered by a strong lineup of partners and sponsors including Talent Africa Group, City Tyres, and the Formula 1 Association – Uganda, whose support helped steer the event to the finish line with roaring success.
With fast laps, big personalities, and a growing karting culture, the Lubowa Ignition Tournament has sparked new excitement for motorsports in Uganda — and this might just be the beginning of something big.
