Alliance Française de Kampala has announced an upcoming cultural concert titled “Bridges & Beats”, scheduled to take place on March 28, 2026, at Kingdom Kampala. The event forms part of activities marking Francophonie Month, a global celebration of the French language and the diverse cultures of French-speaking communities around the world.
Francophonie Month is observed internationally in the lead-up to International Francophonie Day, which recognises the cultural, linguistic, and social contributions of more than 300 million French speakers worldwide. The 2026 celebrations are guided by the theme “Activating your Francophonie,” encouraging communities to engage with and experience French culture in creative and meaningful ways.

Organised by Talent Africa Group in partnership with Alliance Française, the Bridges & Beats concert aims to bring together Ugandan and Francophone artistic expressions through music and cultural performance. The event will showcase a diverse range of musical styles including Afro-soul, acoustic fusion, folk, and experimental sounds, highlighting the shared artistic connections between Uganda and the broader Francophone world.
Music will take centre stage at the concert, with a line-up featuring both Ugandan and international performers. Among the artists expected to perform are Ssewa Ssewa, Professor Joewi, Sandra Nansambu, Elijah Kitaka, DJ Rocky, DJ Valet, Tracy Melon and Sheillah Salta. Regional cultural representation will also come from Impudu Cultural Group, alongside performances by Royal Drums and several emerging Ugandan talents.

Beyond live music, the event is designed as a broader cultural showcase celebrating Uganda’s heritage alongside Francophone traditions. Organisers say the programme will include traditional Ugandan dance performances, exhibitions of locally made crafts, and culinary experiences featuring popular Ugandan dishes. Poetry and storytelling sessions presented in French and local languages will also highlight linguistic diversity and cultural exchange.
Community participation is another central feature of the event. Local schools and universities are expected to take part through performances, workshops, and interactive cultural activities aimed at deepening appreciation for Francophone culture while promoting artistic collaboration among young creatives.
Guests attending the concert will also be able to explore food stalls offering a variety of Ugandan cuisine, watch cooking demonstrations, and view art exhibitions displaying works by Ugandan visual artists.

Tickets for the event are available online through TAG Ticketing. General Bronze tickets will cost UGX 30,000 at the gate, while Silver VIP tickets will be priced at UGX 60,000, with discounted early-bird options available ahead of the event.
The concert is supported by several partners including TotalEnergies and Ruparelia Group, alongside the organisers Talent Africa Group and Alliance Française.
With its mix of music, cultural performances, food, and art, Bridges & Beats is expected to offer audiences an immersive celebration of both Francophone and Ugandan traditions, reinforcing cultural dialogue and artistic collaboration within Kampala’s growing creative scene.
