Musician Dan Flavour, real name Daniel Tumwesigye, has narrated how song bird Lydia Nabawanuka aka Lydia Jazmin nearly drove him into depression and made him consider taking his own life.
According to Dan Flavour, their relationship began on good terms, and he never anticipated that things would take such a dark turn. “Lydia Jazmine made me hate this country at one point. I even questioned why I should continue living in so much suffering,” he said in an interview.
Their fallout reportedly began after Dan Flavour rented a house in Munyonyo for his Airbnb business. A broker he was working with introduced Lydia Jazmine as a potential client. She showed interest in the property and agreed to pay Shs2.5 million per month. She later paid rent for eight months in advance, totaling Shs24 million.
After moving in, Lydia Jazmine brought her family to the house, took photos, and shared them on social media, expressing gratitude to God for her “new home.”
However, the property’s actual owner, who lives in Norway, saw the posts and assumed Dan Flavour had illegally sold the house. This misunderstanding sparked a legal issue, prompting the landlord to alert the authorities. The situation escalated, and Jazmine reported Dan Flavour to Kabalagala Police Station, accusing him of obtaining money through false pretenses, an action that eventually led to his imprisonment.
Dan Flavour’s experience left him emotionally broken, as he never expected someone he trusted to turn against him in such a way.
