Uganda’s fast-rising music wave came alive on Saturday night at the Ndere Cultural Centre, where singer and producer Joshua Baraka staged his first-ever headline concert, “B’raka Land.” Blending contemporary Afro-pop with cultural flair and a strong visual identity, the show marked a major moment for the young star — and a dynamic relaunch for Bell Citrus, the headline partner.
From arrival, fans were absorbed into a carefully curated experience. Guests walked a customised entry runway set against a citrus-themed backdrop, stopping at an interactive mirror booth for photos, while sampling stations across the venue ensured Bell Citrus became the evening’s signature flavour from the outset.
Before Baraka took the stage, the amphitheatre warmed up to performances from rising acts Ricky Odrey, Aijuka, and Kamanzi — a showcase of Uganda’s growing pool of emerging talent.
A sudden blackout signalled the transition into the main act. Moments later, the amphitheatre burst into light as a high-energy dance troupe stormed the stage, ushering in Baraka’s dramatic entrance and symbolising the official return of Bell Citrus to the market.

Performing songs from his debut Baby Steps album to his latest project Juvie, Baraka delivered a confident and intimate set. Midway, he raised a pitcher to the crowd — a gesture the audience echoed as hundreds lifted their Bell Citrus bottles in a collective toast, sealing what felt like a cultural moment.
For Bell Citrus, the night doubled as a powerful reintroduction of the brand.
“We promised flavour with a zest, and tonight has shown exactly that — youthful, vibrant and refreshing,” said Lillian Kansiime, Bell Citrus Brand Manager. “Joshua Baraka embodies innovation and a modern twist. Thank you for supporting both the artist and the brand as we merge heritage with freshness.”
The celebration was amplified further by surprise appearances from celebrated artists including Maurice Kirya, Mun G, Big Trill, A Pass, and Isabel Twongeirwe. Baraka paused during the show to thank his mother for his upbringing and acknowledged his fans and partners for propelling his musical journey forward.
As the main performance wrapped up, Ssese Nation DJs took control of the decks, keeping the energy high as fans danced into the night.

Reflecting on the milestone, Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group, noted that the event signified more than a concert.
“Into B’raka Land is a celebration of music and the vibrant culture of Uganda,” he said. “Artists like Joshua Baraka are redefining the concert experience, and we are committed to creating memorable moments that resonate across the continent.”
The debut concert was powered by a coalition of leading brands, with Bell Citrus headlining the partnership. Additional sponsors included Mirinda, NRG Radio, Ssese Nation, SafeBoda, Red Bull, and Fairway Hotel, all contributing to the immersive “B’raka Land” experience.
Saturday’s event not only marked Baraka’s transition into full-fledged stardom but also set a new standard for curated live music experiences in Kampala — where sound, storytelling, and branding blended seamlessly into one vibrant showcase.
