Kampala is set for a night of musical history as Congolese legend Koffi Olomide jets in to join Uganda’s iconic Afrigo Band for their golden jubilee celebration this Friday, August 16, at Millennium Park, Lugogo.
The celebrated soukous star touched down at Entebbe International Airport to a warm welcome from Afrigo Band leader Moses Matovu and Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group – the event’s official promoters and producers.
The Legends of Sound – Afrigo at 50 concert will fuse Olomide’s signature Congolese rhythms with Afrigo’s timeless Ugandan classics, promising an unforgettable cultural showcase. Fans can expect electrifying performances, state-of-the-art production, and a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between two of Africa’s greatest musical forces.

Born Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, Koffi Olomide is a pioneer of the Tcha Tcho style of soukous. With over 30 albums, multiple international awards including several Kora Awards, and a career spanning four decades, he is celebrated for his poetic lyrics, commanding stage presence, and unmatched showmanship.
