Mr Majid Saffar, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uganda, has called upon the world to prioritise bringing peace in Palestine because it is no longer a Muslim issue.
While officiating at this year’s International Quds Day in Gaba-Kampala on March 27, Mr Saffar reminded Ugandans and the world that the Palestine Issue is now a humanity issue.

“Palestine is not an issue for only Muslims but humanity for all servants of God regardless of backgrounds. Condemnation alone is not enough but followed by boycott, sanctions, and judicial actions,” he said
Adding, “We must continue to educate and raise awareness to our children and youth about the ongoing injustices and insurgencies in the Middle East countries,”
Mr Saffar called upon participants to always go one step forward in defence of Palestine.
“It is a great honor to be part of the people who want to remind the world about the defending the rights of people under oppression coupled with loss of land, siege, denial of rights to enjoy their sovereignty and peace,” he said.

The International Quds Day was organised by Cultural Consulate of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in cooperation with the management of Kampala University.
The Quds Day is an annual pro-Palestinian event held on the last Friday of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan to express support for Palestinians and oppose Israel massive force.
Majority of the speakers centered at preaching for peace, with emphasis on the Palestine war which has claimed over 10,000 lives since its outbreak in October last year.
Mr Abdollah Abbasi the Iranian Cultural Counselor said that the Quds Day is the best time to reflect on the oppressed Palestinian people by the tyrannical western countries who are supporting the child killing regime of Israel who are trying to achieve their political goals and selling military equipments.
He noted that the barbaric actions not only affect the Palestinian people but also other Middle East countries among others.
“I rally you (participants) to always show solidarity and empathy to the Palestinian people as declared by Imam Khomeini as it is inherent to every Muslim faithful and other religious people in the world,” he said.
Mr Issah Katungulu Luyimbaazi the Afrcan Youth Ambassador of the World African Diaspora Union said that the day has now turned into a symbol of the unity of the entirety of humanity. “Free thinkers usually condemn the United States and Western states for lending support to Israel in its war on Gaza,” he said.
The Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan recognised the charismatic leadership of Imam Khomeini for declaring the international Quds Day to show solidarity with oppressed Palestinian people and as the government of Sudan, we have been supporting the Palestinian people since 1950s.
Prof. Adam Sebyala Al-maliky, the academic professor and president of Uganda Shia Ithna Ashari Muslim Community spoke on the intractable problem of Palestine.
He noted this is a land where nations had settled peacefully; not until when Abraham born in Ur (Iraq) was received well by the peaceful inhabitants for resettlement after getting into troubles with his fellow natives.
Dr. Hadi Assadi, a lecturer at Al-Mustafa Islamic College Kyengera shared about the historical reports of the holy prophet for not segregating anyone in his life and noted that Muslims should do better than just fulfilment of Islamic obligations but also social obligations.

Dr. Rouhollah Dehghani the principal of Al-mustafa Islamic College Kyengera noted that struggle of Karbala should be the message to drive free thinkers towards spirituality, solidarity and love to the oppressed nations including Palestine among others.
He appreciated the axis of resistance for standing against the atrocities of the Zionist regime.
Associate Prof. Dr. Nabukeera Madinah Sebyala, the Director of Islamic University in Uganda, Females campus who recognised the charismatic leadership of Imam Khomeini who declared this important event on the last Friday during the Islamic month of Ramadhan.
