Singers Dax Vibez and Mikie Wine, both younger brothers of National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine, were reportedly arrested in the early hours of Monday morning while returning from a performance in Jinja.
According to eyewitness accounts, the artists were intercepted by police at around 2:00 AM shortly after performing at Baba TV’s Ekitudha event. The two were in the company of their respective teams when they were stopped and taken into custody.
A video circulating online and cited by this publication shows the moment of arrest, with several police officers surrounding the artists. In the footage, a distressed Dax Vibez can be heard shouting for help and questioning the motive behind their arrest, claiming they were being detained “for no reason.”
At the time of publishing, police had not issued an official statement regarding the reason for the arrest or the charges if any against the musicians and their teams.
This is a developing story, and more details will be shared as they become available.
